Faces of Japan
Okay. Let's bash some stereotypes.
Japanese people do not all look the same.
The phrase 'Japanese Couple' is not an oxymoron.
And not all Japanese men wear black suits and ties.
Speaking of faces, this is a common face that surprises many people.
The mask is not to protect this woman from smog.
It's not to protect her from colds.
And it's certainly not a fashion statement.
When Japanese people have a cold or flu, they will wear a mask to protect other people!
It's a startlingly civilized gesture that most foreigners misinterpret.
