Life's Too Short
When the lightning strikes in the middle of the night
And your heart leaps into an instant fright
Adrenaline flows through your body
A frigid wind blows against your naked skin
You dress up warm but you just can't win
There's no time to worry
Life's too short, to worry
Life's too short, to care
Life's too short, to hurry
Life's too short, to go nowhere
You've got a hard job, but it don't pay
To support the lifestyle that you wanna play
There isn't any satisfaction
The night comes along, now you're all alone
And there's no sound coming from the phone
You've got to find some action
Life's too short, to worry
Life's too short, to care
Life's too short, to hurry
Life's too short, to go nowhere

The
Story:
Jeff Barrett was the lead singer for Quik Fixx, and came to me with these
lyrics.
It took us one or two nights to put it together, and it became Jeff's
signature song.
Not to say that Jeff is small, but in some circles, this tune became
better known as "Jeff's Too Short".
Jeff had a perfect growling
heavy metal voice, which I lack, so my version owes more to Billy Idol
than to Judas Priest.
The Recording:
This recording of "Life's Too Short" was done in 1990, in
my bedroom studio (San Jose, California) as part of the "No Easy
Answers" sessions.
The Lineup:
Glenn Hughes -
Vocals, Guitars, Keyboards,
Bass and Drum Programming
Final Word:
Somewhere, there exist tapes with Jeff singing this song.
If I find one, I'll put that version up as well.
